SWIM INSTRUCTOR at YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina – Clinton, North Carolina

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Y is a leading nonprofit for strengthening community, and the nation's larger provider of swim lessons to increase skill and safety in and around water. This position provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes.

WAGE RANGE: $12.44 - $15.55/hr. depending on qualifications and experience, wage can increase to $20+/hr. for private lesson instruction once certified

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum age of 16.
• Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification.
• YMCA Swim Instructor Certification, American Red Cross WSI or equivalent.
• Ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness.
• Must demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
• Ability to lift equipment and to lift a small to average size child.
