Job Description
The QA Engineer will support enterprise-scale systems within the Capital Markets organization within a retail banking environment. This role focuses on automated testing, data validation, and programming-driven quality engineering practices to ensure reliability, security, and performance across critical banking platforms.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a quality-first mindset and thrives in complex, data-intensive environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks creating pilots for functional, regression, and integration testing.
- Create, execute, and maintain comprehensive data-driven test cases to validate business logic, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze system requirements, technical specifications, and business workflows to develop effective test strategies.
- Write and maintain reusable test scripts and utilities using modern programming languages.
- Perform end-to-end testing within a Capital Markets environment
- Validate data flows across databases, APIs, and batch processes.
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution in collaboration with development and product teams.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
- Continuously improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and QA processes.
- Ensure testing practices align with security, audit, and compliance standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing.
- Strong programming experience in one or more languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
- Proven experience creating and executing data test cases for large-scale systems.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases (SQL proficiency preferred).
- Familiarity with API testing and backend validation.
- Experience using defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, ALM, Azure DevOps).
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Natural Language testing tools (e.g. Pilot)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in retail banking, financial services, or regulated industries.
- Knowledge of core Capital Markets applications.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps testing practices.
- Exposure to performance, security, or compliance testing.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Test Automation: Pilot methodologies and custom frameworks
- Programming: Java, Python, C#, JavaScript (or similar)
- Capital Markets: Familiarity with Murex
- Databases: SQL, data validation tools
