What you will do:
- Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closings.
- Support project accounting, including job cost tracking, budget-to-actual variance analysis, and WIP reporting.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules and depreciation.
- Assist with payroll processing and related journal entries.
- Prepare financial reports for management, auditors, and project managers.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and GAAP.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor billing and project profitability.
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting as needed.
- May remain in stationary position for extended periods.
What you will bring:
- Associate degree in Accounting OR High school diploma and two or more years of applicable experience.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience; experience in the engineering, architecture, or construction (AEC) industry is a plus.
- Microsoft Word (basic) and Excel (intermediate).
- Adobe Acrobat (editing and combining PDFs).
- Experience with accounting software (e.g.,Deltek, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) preferred.
