Insulation Fabricator in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania at Pennsylvania Transformer Technology Inc

Insulation Fabricators fabricate and assemble various insulation parts used in the manufacturing of power transformers. You will use various drawings issued from the design group to shape, assemble, check for quality, and deliver to the required department. These materials help prevent electrical short circuits and ensure the efficient and safe operation of the transformer. On-the-job training to operate the equipment will be provided. Must possess excellent communication skills and work well in a team environment.

Essential Functions:

· Interprets technical drawings to understand required specifications

· Cutting and shaping insulation materials based on transformer design specifications

· Precisely fitting insulation into transformer components like coils, windings, and core structures

· Inspecting materials for defects, measuring dimensions, and ensuring compliance with industry standards

· Sanding, shaving, scraping, cleaning

· Assist with moving large sheets to cut on the shear or panel saw

· Stage upcoming jobs on the panel saw

Keep work area safe, neat, and clean

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools
• Able to read a tape measure
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this job include, but are not limited to, standing, walking, sitting, occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds, required to walk, sit, use hands, fingers, and arms, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must also be able to see in close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Job requires a moderate level of physical effort.

Work Environment: Workers are subjected to dust and noise and are exposed to an environment without temperature control for heat or cold.
