Böhme is a fast-growing, fashion-forward women’s apparel brand with a strong retail
footprint and expanding eCommerce business. Founded by two sisters and built with a
scrappy, entrepreneurial mindset, the company has grown into a multi-store, digitally
driven brand with a people-first culture.
We are seeking a Head of Human Resources to build and lead the full HR function
across the organization. This individual will serve as a strategic partner to leadership
while also being hands-on in execution—owning everything from talent acquisition and
development to employee relations, performance management, and organizational
design.

Head of Human Resources
Key Responsibilities
HR Leadership & Strategy
Own and lead the overall HR strategy aligned with company growth goals across
retail and corporate teams
Act as a trusted advisor to founders and leadership on organizational design,
workforce planning, and talent strategy
Build scalable HR infrastructure to support continued expansion (stores +
eCommerce)
Establish and evolve company culture, ensuring alignment with brand values and
entrepreneurial spirit
Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding
Oversee end-to-end recruiting strategy across all levels (retail, HQ, leadership)
Build a strong employer brand that attracts high-quality, culturally aligned talent
Manage external recruiting partners and internal hiring processes
Implement structured interview, onboarding, and hiring frameworks
Talent Development & Performance Management
Design and implement performance management processes (reviews, goal-
setting, feedback loops)
Build leadership development programs for store and corporate teams
Create career pathing and succession planning frameworks
Identify high-potential talent and support retention strategies
Employee Relations & Culture
Serve as the point of contact for employee relations matters across the
organization
Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture
Lead employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
Partner with leadership to address organizational challenges and team dynamics
HR Operations & Compliance
Oversee all HR operations including policies, procedures, and employee lifecycle
management
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
Manage benefits, compensation structures, and payroll partnership (with
Finance)
Build and maintain employee handbook and internal documentation
Organizational Design & Scaling
Assess team structure, headcount planning, and efficiency across departments
Support company through periods of growth, change, and scaling
Implement systems, tools, and processes to improve HR effectiveness
Drive data-informed decision-making across HR (retention, hiring, performance
metrics)
Qualifications
8–15+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally within retail, fashion, or
consumer brands
Experience leading HR in a high-growth, multi-location business (retail +
corporate preferred)
Strong background across talent acquisition, talent development, and employee
relations
Proven ability to build HR infrastructure from the ground up or scale an existing
function
Hands-on operator with strategic mindset (can toggle between strategy and
execution)
Experience partnering directly with founders or executive leadership
Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
High emotional intelligence and ability to influence across all levels of the
organization
