Home Watch Technician in Cathedral City, California at Coachella Valley Home Watch

Position:
We are looking for a part-time Home watch Inspector to be part of our family business to assist in servicing out clients in the Coachella Valley. This position would be great for someone that is looking to supplement their income, and not as someone’s sole source of income. That is why I find it works well for someone that is retired or smi-retired.

Basic Job Description:
The home watch inspector will be responsible for entering unoccupied properties (houses, town houses and condominiums) and completing home watch inspections (looking for any issues such as ceiling damage, water leaks, pest control issues, air conditioning not working, signs of vandalism, etc.). During each home watch inspection, a Home watch Inspection report (Using an iPad) must be completed and submitted to the office. Some of the other client requested services would include giving access to vendors, opening and prepping properties, closing properties, post storm checks, and on occasion changing some detector batteries, connecting vehicle battery maintainers, and moving some patio furniture. What we do is not difficult at all. However, you will be working on your own and entering our clients’ homes and so honesty, trustworthiness, integrity, reliability, and consistency are an absolute MUST!

Work Schedule and Compensation
- This is a part time position
- Estimated 10-12 hours per week during high season (May-October)
- Estimated 5-8 hours per week during shoulder and slow season (November-April)
- Our busiest months are June through September
- Inspectors will be paid $20 an hour to start and will be paid $25 an hour after completing Home Watch Boot Camp certification. Inspectors are required to obtain certification within 60 days of employment, and this is provided at no cost to the Inspector. Maintaining certification is an essential function of the position.
- All home watch inspections are completed on set inspection days (Sunday-Wednesday between 7AM-4PM, though morning hours are preferred.

Job requirements:
1. Looking for a mature individual, preferably someone that is retired or semi-retired and has a flexible schedule
2. Must live in the Coachella Valey
3. Must pass a criminal background check and drug test
4. Must be able to work by yourself without having to be micro-managed.
5. Must be honest, trustworthy, reliable and display integrity
6. Must be detail orientated.
7. Must have good communication skills and a healthy response time when communicating.
8. Must have good writing skills (grammar/spelling/punctuation/legibility). The reports we submit to our clients should be communicated professionally.
9. Must be abo eth use a computer, smartphone and iPad to be able to complete inspection reports.
10. Must have your own vehicle transportation in good working order and proof of proper auto insurance.
11. Must be comfortable having to climb a ladder to change smoke detector batteries if needed.
12. Job includes walking the perimeter of homes in our hot desert summer.
13. Paychecks will be issued every two weeks.

There is a lot of trust extended to anyone we bring on board, so we take hiring someone new very seriously.
Candidates MUST live in the Coachella Valley. This is because of where our properties are located. It helps with response time and cuts down on fuel costs.
We will train your (but having property knowledge is a plus).
