Position Summary Shop Assembly & Repair Technician, Specialty Services – Depot Repair Center (Pasadena, TX)
The Shop Assembly & Repair Technician is responsible for providing technical services and support at the depot facility. The role acts as a liaison between Taurus Industrial Group, OEM representatives, and clients, ensuring optimal equipment performance, smooth communication, high-quality service delivery, and supporting customer data management and business growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
•
Track the service and repair workflow for hydraulic and induction heating/bolting equipment, ensuring timely completion and adherence to OEM production schedules.
•
Process assembly & repair orders, allocate in-house components for repairs, and purchase necessary materials and parts in coordination with technicians and vendors.
•
Perform shop installations, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of equipment and specialty systems for Taurus clients.
•
Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and field services including bolting, heat treating, field machining, and specialty tooling tasks.
•
Serve as the main technical contact between Taurus depots, clients, and OEM partners, ensuring seamless communication and coordination on support issues and maintenance activities.
•
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently, providing timely support to minimize equipment downtime.
•
Document all service activities, repair logs, and maintenance records accurately for depot and client reference.
•
Provide technical assistance and training to customers on proper equipment operation and best maintenance practices.
•
Maintain a proactive focus on safety, following all regulatory and company protocols while on client sites and in the depot.
•
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and OEMs to coordinate parts, warranty claims, product upgrades, and technical bulletins.
•
Uphold Taurus Industrial Group’s reputation by delivering exceptional customer service, acting professionally as the face of the company to clients and OEM partners.
•
Support compliance with quality control, safety, and operational procedures within the repair center and machine shop.
•
Collaborate with technicians, sales, and management to resolve issues, improve processes, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
•
High school diploma or equivalent.
•
Prior experience preferably in an industrial or technical service environment.
•
3 – 4 years of experience in field service or technical equipment support, preferably in industrial, power, petrochemical, or mechanical industries.
•
Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and specialty equipment relevant to Taurus’s service offerings.
•
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and OEM documentation.
•
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
•
Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and OEM liaison functions.
•
Commitment to safety standards and best practices in all job duties.
Physical Demands
•
Primarily shop-based with moderate physical activity: approximately 10% sitting, 30% walking, and 60% standing.
•
Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of office supplies or repair documentation may be required.
Reporting Structure
•
Reports to the Depot Repair/Manufacturing Director or Operations Manager.
•
Works closely with shop technicians, sales staff, accounting department, procurement, and other Taurus service representatives.
