SUMMARY: The Logistics Network Analyst will evaluate, design, and improve our transportation and distribution network. This role focuses on analyzing routing patterns, optimizing delivery schedules, and supporting strategic decisions that reduce costs, improve service levels, and increase fleet efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong data analysis skills, a deep understanding of logistics operations, and the ability to turn insights into actionable recommendations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Network Analysis & Optimization

  • Analyze existing transportation networks and identify opportunities for cost reduction and service improvement.
  • Use route optimization software and modeling tools to design efficient delivery schedules.
  • Evaluate and recommend changes to distribution hubs, delivery zones, and lane structures.

Data & Reporting

  • Collect and analyze key metrics such as cost per mile, load factor, route performance, and on-time delivery.
  • Build dashboards and reports for leadership to monitor fleet efficiency and customer service levels.
  • Conduct scenario modeling for capacity planning and seasonal demand fluctuations.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with fleet operations, dispatch, and supply chain teams to implement optimized routing solutions.
  • Partner with IT and data teams to integrate optimization tools with transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Support procurement and vendor negotiations with data-driven cost models.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor network and routing KPIs, providing recommendations for ongoing improvements.
  • Research and apply best practices in route optimization, load planning, and freight consolidation.
  • Contribute to sustainability goals by identifying opportunities for reduced fuel consumption and emissions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven track record in network optimization and large-scale fleet management.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with TMS (Transportation Management Systems), fleet telematics, and advanced analytics tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field.
    • 2–5 years of experience in transportation planning, logistics analysis, or route optimization.

    Preferred:

    • Knowledge of LTL, FTL, and last-mile delivery models.
    • Familiarity with fleet telematics and GPS-based routing systems.
    • Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement training.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or concerns from employees or stakeholders. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to management, distribution center staff, and drivers. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS:

    Ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and business needs. Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to maintain momentum in high-priority or time-sensitive projects. Experience collaborating within complex organizational structures across corporate and DC functions.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make sound business process decisions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    COMPUTER SKILLS:

    • Experience with Microsoft Office applications required.
    • Experience with large-scale enterprise applications required.
  • Strong proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience with TMS, GIS, and route optimization software (e.g., OmniTracs,ORTEC, Descartes, Llamasoft).
