POSITION SUMMARY

Are you a driven sales professional with a passion for building relationships and growing markets? We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Executive to expand our presence across the West coast. This role is ideal for a sales professional who thrives in the field, enjoys developing new business, and excels at nurturing long-term customer partnerships. This role reports to the Vice President of Sales and is located in Southern, CA.

As a Business Development Executive, you will be responsible for developing new prospects and growing existing accounts within your assigned territory. You will play a key role in driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening customer relationships in high-priority industries such as Personal Care and Specialty Food & Beverage. Success in this role requires strong field sales experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Product Development, Customer Care, and Operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage and grow new and existing customer accounts within your territory
  • Drive revenue growth across all company product lines
  • Develop and execute strategic territory and account growth plans
  • Identify, qualify, and acquire new customers aligned with the Company’s Strategic Plan
  • Generate new business within high-priority industries
  • Maintain and manage a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools
  • Provide accurate forecasting and sales projections based on market analysis
  • Partner with Product Development to create customized solutions for customers
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events
  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends to inform sales strategy
  • Negotiate pricing and discounts in consultation with senior sales leadership
  • Deliver consistent reporting (daily, weekly, monthly) to support planning and growth
  • Maintain strong internal collaboration and ensure customer issues are resolved promptly

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive, successful sales experience
  • Industry experience preferred: Food & Beverage, Personal Care, Pharmaceutical, or Packaging Distribution
  • Proven track record of lead qualifications, new business development, and account growth
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn technical products and communicate value propositions effectively
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
  • A positive, professional attitude with a team-oriented mindset
  • Strong relationship-building skills and customer focus
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Comfortable handling complex customer situations
  • Data-driven and strategic in approach
  • Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented

Physical Requirements: This role requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and working at a computer. The position involves regular travel within the assigned territory, including driving to customer locations and occasional air travel. The employee may occasionally lift and carry materials weighing up to 10–15 pounds (e.g., product samples, marketing materials, or trade show materials).
