The Accounts Payables Analyst will facilitate payment of vendors and will be responsible for monitoring the outflow of capital for the company, with excellent customer/client-focused skills, problem-solving, thoroughness, MS Office skills, and self-motivation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Obtain accurate information if needed from the research, and accounting manager.
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals, and work effectively with other members of the team.
- Communicate with accounting management.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
- Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies. Follow-up as needed.
- Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
- Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
- Records entry of, verifies documentation for and distributes petty cash.
- Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's in accounting or relevant experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
- Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, calculators, and copiers.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment, in person. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, document scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role; however, the majority of the day will be spent on the telephone, computer and some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. This position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periods of time as well as reaching above shoulder heights or below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required. This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds for files and computer printouts.
Position type/expected hours of work:
This is a Part-time position. Hours of work are between 20 and 25 hours per week.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position. Job will be in Rahway, NJ and in person.
