As a Fine-Dining Server, you will create sophisticated and memorable dining experiences through polished service, extensive menu knowledge, thoughtful recommendations, and an intuitive understanding of each guest’s needs. You will guide guests through their experience with confidence and warmth while maintaining the precision and attention to detail expected within a luxury fine-dining environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO- Welcome guests warmly and create a personalized and engaging dining experience from arrival through departure.
- Demonstrate polished and professional fine-dining service techniques while maintaining a warm and approachable presence.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of menus, ingredients, preparation methods, accompaniments, and daily features.
- Confidently describe dishes and provide thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Maintain strong knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverage offerings and provide appropriate pairing recommendations.
- Accurately communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests to the culinary team and follow established food-safety procedures.
- Anticipate guest needs and preferences while providing attentive service without being intrusive.
- Recognize opportunities to personalize experiences for celebrations, special occasions, VIPs, repeat guests, and Marriott Bonvoy members.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and properly enter them into the point-of-sale system.
- Coordinate the timing and pacing of each course in partnership with Culinary, Beverage, and support teams.
- Perform appropriate table maintenance throughout the dining experience, including resetting, clearing, marking, and maintaining the presentation of the table.
- Demonstrate proper handling and presentation of china, glassware, flatware, and other fine-dining service pieces.
- Ensure food and beverages are presented accurately and according to established service standards.
- Maintain awareness of the entire table and proactively respond to guest needs.
- Handle guest questions and concerns with professionalism, discretion, and a sense of ownership.
- Partner with leadership to provide thoughtful service recovery when necessary.
- Accurately process guest checks, payments, room charges, and other transactions.
- Complete opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities thoroughly and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, polished, and fully prepared dining environment.
- Collaborate with hosts, server assistants, bartenders, culinary team members, and leadership to provide seamless service.
- Consistently demonstrate and support Forbes Travel Guide service standards and Marriott brand standards.
- Follow all hotel policies, food-safety standards, responsible alcohol-service requirements, and sanitation procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by Food & Beverage leadership.
- Previous fine-dining or upscale restaurant serving experience strongly preferred.
- Luxury hotel, Forbes-rated, or high-end restaurant experience is highly preferred.
- A genuine passion for food, beverage, hospitality, and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Strong knowledge of fine-dining service standards and proper service sequence.
- Working knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktails, and food-and-beverage pairings.
- Ability to confidently explain menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and culinary terminology.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining elevated presentation standards.
- Warm, polished, and professional communication skills.
- Ability to read guest cues and adapt service style to individual preferences.
- Strong sense of urgency while maintaining composure, grace, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tables and priorities without sacrificing the quality of the guest experience.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work closely with both front- and back-of-house teams.
- Ability to receive coaching and continuously develop knowledge and service skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining The Joseph’s standards of excellence.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely carry trays, plates, and service equipment throughout the shift.
- Must meet all applicable requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
