POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Kitchen Manager to support our back-of-house operations. This role works closely with the Kitchen Manager to ensure smooth daily kitchen functions. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with leadership potential, a passion for food, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in quality, cleanliness, and efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in supervising kitchen staff and supporting day-to-day back-of-house operations
• Help oversee food preparation, quality control, portioning, and presentation standards
• Support inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies
• Ensure compliance with all sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety regulations
• Train and support kitchen team members to maintain performance and consistency
• Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager, Executive Chef, and Front of House team to ensure seamless service
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper food handling standards throughout the kitchen
• Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and daily staffing needs
• Step in to lead shifts and support operations in the absence of the Kitchen Manager
• Lead by example and contribute to a positive, high-energy kitchen environment
QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience in a kitchen leadership role (Lead Line Cook, Supervisor, or similar) preferred
• Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food safety, and culinary fundamentals
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary training is a plus

• Strength: Capability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds or more
• Manual Dexterity: Skill in handling knives, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Mobility: Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
• Good Hand-Eye Coordination: Essential for food prep, plating, and safety
• Tolerating Heat: Comfort working in a hot environment for extended periods
• Speed and Efficiency: Critical during high-volume service periods
• Visual and Hearing Acuity: Necessary to ensure food quality and safety
