Salary: $80,000–$145,000 + Commission + Bonus + Company Car
Travel: Approximately 75%

About the Opportunity

RITA Corporation is seeking an experienced B2B Technical Sales Representative to develop and manage customer relationships throughout the Northeast.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished outside sales professional who enjoys building long-term customer relationships, developing new business, and managing a territory with a high level of independence.

Experience selling specialty chemicals, raw materials, ingredients, personal care, cosmetics, home care, cleaning products, or other technical products is highly preferred, but not required. We will also consider successful B2B sales professionals from related technical or manufacturing industries who have the ability and interest to learn our products and markets.

This is a true field sales position. The successful candidate will spend approximately 3–4 days per week visiting customers throughout the territory and work remotely from home when not traveling.

Candidates must reside in New York or New Jersey.

What You'll Do

Develop & Grow Your Territory

  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts throughout the Northeast.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the territory.
  • Build relationships with purchasing, R&D, formulation, QC/QA, and other key decision-makers.
  • Develop a strong understanding of each customer's business, products, applications, and ingredient needs.
  • Introduce customers to additional products and solutions within RITA's portfolio.

Consultative & Technical Sales

  • Learn RITA's portfolio of specialty chemicals, raw materials, and functional ingredients.
  • Work with customers to understand their product and formulation needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Partner with RITA's Technical Services, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to support customer needs.
  • Coordinate product samples, technical requests, pricing, and follow-up activities.

Business Development & Market Intelligence

  • Prospect for new customers and applications within personal care, cosmetics, home care, cleaning, pharmaceutical, and related markets.
  • Identify market trends, competitive activity, pricing changes, and new business opportunities.
  • Attend customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and company sales meetings.
  • Develop and maintain a strong professional network within the territory.

Territory Management

  • Monitor customer activity, sales performance, order history, and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare sales forecasts, customer call reports, monthly itineraries, and other sales documentation.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Supply Chain regarding forecasts and customer demand.
  • Manage territory expenses responsibly while maximizing sales opportunities and profitability.

  • Technical products sold to manufacturers

Don't have direct chemical industry experience? If you have a strong track record in B2B technical, manufacturing, or consultative sales and are interested in learning the specialty chemical and personal care ingredient industry, we'd still like to hear from you.

Requirements: What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of successful B2B sales, account management, business development, or technical sales experience.
  • Experience selling specialty chemicals, raw materials, ingredients, personal care/cosmetic products, home care/cleaning products, or other technical/manufactured products is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop customer relationships and grow a sales territory.
  • Comfortable working with both technical and business contacts.
  • Strong consultative selling, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote, field-based position.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, opportunities, and follow-up activities.
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 75% by car and air throughout the assigned territory.
  • Must currently reside in New York or New Jersey.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Business, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lift and carry product samples or presentation materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
