Function of Position:
The faculty member will prepare and teach courses in the Business Administration department, develop new educational materials, and assist with the assessment of student learning, as appropriate. Classes may be assigned for the Brighton and/or Downtown campus, or an online, remote, or hybrid modality, as needed. Faculty report to the Department Chairperson. MCC seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track teaching position with expertise in Management Information Systems, to begin work by August 31, 2026.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Teach a variety of Management Information Systems courses in accordance with departmental and College guidelines.
Develop and deliver engaging course materials and instruction in traditional, online, hybrid, and other instructional modalities, as needed.Prepare syllabi, lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that support student learning and success.
Evaluate student performance; maintain accurate attendance, grading, and academic records; and submit required documentation in a timely manner.Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment using effective, innovative, and high-impact teaching practices.
Maintain office hours and advise students on academic, career, and related matters in accordance with contractual guidelines.
Contribute to student recruitment, retention, completion, and placement efforts.
Participate in curriculum development, student learning assessment, program review, and continuous improvement initiatives.Demonstrate ongoing professional growth by maintaining subject matter expertise and participating in professional development.
Serve as an active member of the department, division, and College through committee work, department meetings, faculty recruitment, peer evaluation, and other assigned service activities.
Support grant development and implementation, as appropriate.
Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Management Information Systems or Business Administration (with significant coursework or experience in MIS) or a technology-related field (with significant business-related coursework or experience) from an accredited institution.
Relevant teaching/training experience.
Commitment to supporting an inclusive campus environment and working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, abilities, and perspectives.
Commitment to the mission and philosophy of a comprehensive community college.
Demonstrated proficiency with instructional and educational technologies, including interest in developing and teaching online courses.
Commitment to ongoing professional growth and continuous learning.
Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching web-enhanced or fully online courses
Knowledge of or experience using varied teaching strategies to support student learning
Experience with computerized student record management systems
Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish or other languages proficiently
Additional Information:
Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity, and college budget. This position has a range of $52,000 to $60,000 and is based on these factors.
MCC offers a Flexible Work Policy for benefit-eligible employees. Types of flexible work arrangements include flextime/staggered shifts, remote work/telecommuting, and compressed work schedule. The availability of flexible work arrangements varies by division, department, and position, based upon business and operational needs.
