Function of Position:
Reporting to the Director of Learning Support Systems (LSS), Student Aides are current MCC students who work in the Tutoring and Academic Assistance Center (TAAC) at the Brighton Campus to support day-to-day operations. Student Aides will maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while working in the Center.
This position may be funded through Federal Work Study (FWS) and/or departmental budgetary funds, depending on eligibility and departmental need. Federal Work Study applicants must be approved by the Financial Aid Office prior to employment consideration. If you are unsure of your FWS eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying. Applicants must include their M# in any correspondence with the Financial Aid Office.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Greet students, faculty, and staff as they enter the TAAC at the Brighton Campus
Assist students to schedule tutoring appointments
Help students with computer related questions (such as email, TracCloud, Brightspace, Word, etc.)
Clean and close the Center in the evening
Assist with any administrative tasks, including but not limited to copying, running errands, and answering telephones
Assist LSS staff with projects and tasks as assigned
Help with tabling and other Center outreach events

Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Must be currently enrolled as a student at Monroe Community College
Must maintain satisfactory academic progress and be in good academic standing
Federal Work Study eligibility is required for FWS-funded positions (must be approved by the Financial Aid Office prior to hire)
Technology savvy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Well organized, punctual, and versed in key utilization of time management skills
Energetic, outgoing, and able to maintain a positive attitude
Customer-service focused
Reliable
Preferred Qualifications:
Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
Additional Information:
Pay Rate: $16.00/hour
Hours per Week: Up to 20 hours/week
