Senior Manager, Strategic HR Operations

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Strategic HR Operations based in the United States.

This is a highly visible HR operations leadership role focused on turning workforce data, systems, and strategic initiatives into meaningful business outcomes. You will partner with senior HR leaders to manage complex, cross-functional projects and strengthen operational effectiveness. The role combines HR analytics, project management, compliance, systems optimization, and executive communication. You will create dashboards and insights that help leaders understand workforce trends and make informed decisions. You will also improve processes, oversee key HR operations, and support an employee population of nearly 1,200 professionals. Accountabilities:
  • Partner with Senior HR Business Partners on strategic and cross-functional initiatives spanning employee engagement, compliance, performance management, compensation planning, and organizational priorities.
  • Develop executive-level dashboards, reports, data summaries, and presentations that provide senior leaders with clear visibility into workforce and HR trends.
  • Analyze HR, recruiting, engagement, and workforce data to identify patterns, generate recommendations, and communicate actionable insights.
  • Own the strategic HR project and communications tracker, ensuring initiatives, timelines, responsibilities, and project plans remain accurate and current.
  • Manage multiple concurrent HR projects from planning through execution, maintaining accountability, workflow efficiency, stakeholder alignment, and leadership visibility.
  • Improve HR systems, reporting tools, documentation, and data-reconciliation processes to strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and operational consistency.
  • Own leave-of-absence administration and operations, particularly parental leave, while staying current on applicable federal and state paid family and medical leave requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on FLSA requirements, overtime compliance, time reporting, audits, and related HR practices.
  • Coordinate professional development initiatives, employee requests, and associated budgets.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Technology Services, and other stakeholders on people-focused initiatives and operational priorities.
  • Supervise and support the People Operations Coordinator, ensuring HR data, dashboards, documentation, content, and processes remain accurate and up to date.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and operational scalability while maintaining a high level of detail and service quality.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required, with 4–7 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, People Operations, HR Analytics, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to build dashboards, analyze large datasets, and translate workforce information into actionable insights for senior leadership.
  • Strong experience creating executive presentations and communicating complex data in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Experience working with HRIS and ATS platforms such as Paycor, Greenhouse, or comparable systems.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, reporting, organizational, and project-management capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and PowerPoint or Google Slides.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business and HR reporting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance, leave administration, FLSA, overtime, time reporting, and employment best practices.
  • Excellent written, editorial, verbal, facilitation, and meeting-design skills across both remote and in-person environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, organization, and strong follow-through.
  • Experience supervising, training, coaching, or developing team members is preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a distributed workforce and using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, video conferencing, and related digital tools.
