- Own the research strategy and roadmap for a core product area, prioritizing high-impact learning opportunities in alignment with customer needs, product direction, and business objectives.
- Translate broad or ambiguous questions into focused research plans, selecting appropriate qualitative, quantitative, generative, or evaluative methods based on the decision, timeline, risk, and available evidence.
- Lead mixed-method research throughout the product lifecycle, including discovery, concept testing, usability studies, field research, surveys, benchmarking, and post-launch evaluation.
- Synthesize research findings and multiple evidence sources into clear, defensible recommendations that help Product, Design, Engineering, Data, and business stakeholders make informed decisions.
- Combine research insights with product analytics, customer feedback, behavioral signals, and existing knowledge to build a connected understanding of customer needs and behaviors.

- Bring customer perspectives into planning and prioritization by identifying unmet needs, surfacing risks, and challenging assumptions early in the product development process.
- Use AI responsibly to accelerate research planning, analysis, synthesis, and knowledge sharing while maintaining research rigor, participant privacy, and appropriate data-handling standards.
- Develop reusable research workflows and practices that improve how teams learn from customers and increase the overall impact of research.
- Maintain accessible research repositories and communicate insights, decisions, risks, and open questions clearly to partners and leadership.
- Coach cross-functional partners and designers on appropriate research practices and help strengthen research capabilities across the organization.
- 6+ years of professional experience conducting user research, product research, or a related discipline, with demonstrated experience influencing product direction and delivering measurable customer or business value.
- Strong command of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with the judgment to select the right approach based on the decision, context, and available evidence.
- Proven ability to own research end-to-end, including problem framing, study design, participant engagement, facilitation, analysis, synthesis, storytelling, recommendations, and follow-through.
- Experience working autonomously in ambiguous, fast-paced environments while prioritizing multiple research needs and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong analytical and synthesis capabilities, including the ability to connect diverse evidence sources, identify meaningful patterns, and distinguish durable insights from isolated feedback.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and influencing skills, with experience aligning Product, Design, Engineering, Data, and business stakeholders around evidence-based decisions.
- A pragmatic approach to research that balances methodological rigor, speed, risk, and business needs without compromising research integrity.
- Familiarity with AI-supported research workflows and a growth mindset toward using AI for planning, analysis, synthesis, and knowledge management, combined with sound judgment regarding privacy and AI limitations.
- Strong customer empathy, intellectual curiosity, and confidence in challenging assumptions when research evidence points in a different direction.
- Experience in entertainment, payroll, fintech, accounting, or another complex operational domain is considered an advantage.
- Remote work opportunity available across Canada.
- Competitive compensation of approximately CA$149,000–CA$205,000, depending on geographic zone, experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
- Health and dental benefits.
- Up to 2% matching RRSP / 401(k) contribution.
- Opportunity to work on meaningful, complex product challenges within a technology-driven environment.
- Collaboration with creative, multidisciplinary teams and the opportunity to make a significant impact on product strategy and customer experiences.
- Opportunities to use and develop AI-supported research practices and modern research workflows.
- Inclusive and respectful workplace committed to equal opportunity and a harassment- and discrimination-free environment.
- This is a 12-month maternity leave coverage position.
