Position Title: Flexographic Prepress Art Supervisor

Location: WHITE BLUFF, TN 37187
Position type: Full Time

Job Shift: 1st Shift

Description:

Summary & Responsibilities


Job Summary: Supervise all art production and keep production informed to maintain timely daily creation of proofs and plates.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Daily updates of graphics schedule, delegation and following up with all graphics projects from mock-ups, preflight, digital artwork, proofreading, and LEN QA.
  • Preflight and transfer customer-supplied files using their native Mac or PC software.
  • Work with Manager to direct the production of artwork and printing plates.
  • Work directly with customers, customer service, production, product development and sales on new projects evaluation to satisfy client and quoting preproduction needs.
  • Attend and direct client, design group, and prep house production meetings.
  • Assist Graphics manager, production managers/supervisors, and QA manager with resolve of print or graphics related issues and implementation of quality improvements.
  • Assist managers, supervisors, and ESKO System Admin as needed to engineer supplied graphics.
  • Assist manager and Graphics system admin with department continuous improvement.
  • Maintain consistent communications of project details and client records.
  • Complete graphics group employee annual reviews.
  • Develop and oversee prepress quotes.
  • Backup Graphics & Prepress Manager.
  • Monitor and inform customer service of open graphic accounts billable.
  • Follow established procedures, quality control steps and complete all required documentation.
  • Maintain courteous and professional atmosphere.
  • Responsible for compliance with all regulatory, facility food safety, and quality policies and procedures including product safety (GMPs) policies and procedures.

    Qualifications & Essential Functions


    Qualifications/Skills:
    Must possess advanced-level proficiency with ESKO Automation Engine (Pilot) software.
    Must demonstrate intermediate-level proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe CC) software.
    Must be able to maintain good client relations both external and internal customers.
    Must have superior written and verbal communications skills.
    Must have 7 years flexo color separation/job engineering experience

    Essential Job Functions:
    Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), having visitors use the front office door and sign-in and sign-out, by escorting visitors and making sure they follow GMPs, and being aware of surroundings and reporting suspicious activity that could lead to Food Defense and Food Safety related concerns.
    Must have experience in supervising and equipment procurements.
    Must at times work independently of others and possess necessary experience to provide decision making.
    Must be able to work unsupervised long, odd hours.
    Must conduct press approvals.
    Must be able to supervise all aspects of graphic pre-press equipment.
    Must have reading skills necessary to properly understand orders, material labels, reports, warning signs, etc.
    Must be able to distinguish subtle shades of color accurately in order to match samples and color designations on orders and design concepts.
    Must be able to lift 25 – 60 lbs.
    Must be able to comprehend and follow detailed instructions without constant supervision.
    Must be able to communicate operating problems to supervisor.
    Must be able to logically deduce (reason) the source of problem in a design which prevents commercially acceptable printing, propose a solution to that problem and carry out that solution, i.e. ability to evaluate, assess and make decisions.
    Must have eyesight (whether corrected or not) which allows individual to distinguish hairlines, registrations and color accuracy.
    Must have maturity and disposition to always operate and execute safety.
    Must understand and be able to implement safety emergency procedures.
    Must have physical strength to stand for lengthy periods of time and be able to reach and see above 50” in height and 40” in depth.
    Must be able to interact with and follow instructions from quality control and/or management to maintain specified quality standards.
    Must possess good typing/computer skills.
    Must be able to work well with personnel both in the department and outside the department (sales, production, customer service, etc.) even under high-pressure situations.
    Must be able to work under stress of tight deadlines.
