Royal Bank is a commercial bank offering a range of checking and savings products and a full line of home and commercial lending solutions. We have been operating continuously in the Chicagoland area since 1887 and over the last two years, have grown from three branches to seven branches. Royal Bank has seven branches located in Chicago, one branch located in Westmont, one branch located in Niles, in addition to lending centers in Homewood and St. Charles, Illinois.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Universal Banker I

• Reconciles cash drawer by proving cash transactions; counting and packaging currency and coins; reconciling loan coupons and other transactions; turning in excess cash and mutilated currency to head banker; maintaining supply of cash and currency
• Actively educating and informing clients on all Royal Bank products and actively cross-selling all products/services to meet monthly production goals
• Assisting client(s) with account inquiries in a timely and accurate manner and performing all functions associated with account maintenance as requested including, but not limited to: personal and account data changes, address changes, and account closures
• Maintaining vault and ATM cash in an accurate manner; being responsible for replenishing and verifying cash shipments from Federal Reserve under dual control system
• Remaining responsible for security of Vault Cash, Travelers Checks, Money Orders, Cashier’s Checks, and any other consigned items
• Remaining knowledgeable and proficient in the account opening process for all deposit accounts, including, but not limited to: savings, checking, money market, and club accounts
• Showing proficiency in identification and new account screening methods and being able to fully explain regulatory requirements on all accounts and services
• Accurately and efficiently completing all client- or account-related forms and forwarding to appropriate department for action and/or filing
• Maintaining usage proficiency on all client-related third party systems and software including the maintenance of client records (systems include, but are not limited to: client check ordering, ATM/Debit card ordering and maintenance, account and identity verification, etc.)
• Being available to travel to any branch location for support as requested by management, as well as work on Saturdays and Sundays, when needed
• Assisting with the opening/closing of the branch office
• Resolving and following-up on client complaints and issues to provide and ensure the highest quality client service
• Possessing excellent communication skills with Branch Managers, co-workers and clients
• Assisting in any special projects or other assignments as requested by Branch Manager

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a full service financial institution or other retail customer service profession with exposure to cash and a variety of programs/products
• Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external clients, use feedback for continuous improvement, and develop and maintain effective relationships
• Willingness to attend training seminars and meetings outside normal working hours
• Must have a proactive and positive attitude toward clients, supervisors, co-workers, and the Bank
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work with limited supervision, exercising own initiative and judgment
• Present a professional image and attitude at all times
