This role sits at the heart of a fast-scaling, remote-first, open-source driven organization like Grafana Labs.
You will shape the data foundation that powers analytics, insights, and decision-making across global teams.
The position focuses on building and maintaining scalable data infrastructure that supports high-growth business needs.
You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders in GTM, Marketing, Finance, and BizApps to translate business needs into reliable data solutions.
A key part of your impact will be ensuring data is accurate, accessible, well-modeled, and trusted across the organization.
This is a highly collaborative, remote role where communication, ownership, and technical excellence come together to drive meaningful outcomes.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and evolving the core data architecture and analytics infrastructure that enables self-serve insights across the organization. You will ensure data reliability, usability, and scalability while continuously improving tooling and processes.
- Own and maintain the data stack architecture and pipelines using tools such as BigQuery, dbt, and Fivetran.
- Ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and consistency across analytics and business functions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across GTM, Marketing, Finance, Self-Serve, and BizApps to translate business needs into scalable data models.
- Develop and maintain data testing frameworks, quality checks, and validation logic to ensure trust in data outputs.
- Define and enforce best practices for documentation, version control, analytics engineering standards, and data governance.
- Build and improve data processes and workflows, including those leveraging AI-enabled or agentic systems.
- Act as a subject matter expert for data pipelines, tools, and metrics, enabling self-service analytics across teams.
You bring strong experience in analytics engineering and data modeling, with a passion for enabling data-driven decision-making in complex, fast-moving environments. You are comfortable working across technical and non-technical teams and excel at turning business questions into structured data solutions.
- 3–5 years of experience in data modeling and analytics engineering.
- Hands-on experience with dbt and modern ELT/ETL workflows.
- Strong understanding of cloud data environments such as AWS or GCP (preferred).
- Experience building and maintaining data quality tests, unit tests, and validation logic.
- Proven ability to partner with diverse stakeholders, from analysts to business users and engineers.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts clearly.
- Experience supporting data enablement through documentation, training, and data cataloging.
- Familiarity with observability, monitoring, or APM domains is a plus.
- Exposure to coding agents or agentic development practices is an advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fully remote, global environment with high autonomy.
- Competitive base salary in Canada: CAD 129,392 – CAD 155,272 (depending on experience and skill level).
