Punta Gorda Dental Care is looking for a dependable, patient-focused Dental Hygiene Assistant to join our team full-time! If you enjoy helping patients feel comfortable, supporting dental hygienists, and keeping a clinical team running smoothly, we’d love to meet you.

In this role, you’ll work alongside our dental hygienists to support daily hygiene operations, help deliver an excellent patient experience, and play an important part in keeping the office organized and efficient.

• Assist the dental hygienist with patient care and clinical procedures
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms
• Take dental X-rays as needed
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Follow all infection control and OSHA guidelines
• Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions
• Help manage the hygiene schedule and maintain an efficient workflow
• Restock and organize hygiene supplies
• Assist with presenting treatment plans when needed
• Support other clinical team members as needed to ensure smooth patient care

What We’re Looking For

• Previous dental assisting experience preferred, especially experience supporting a dental hygiene team
• Current X-ray certification or willingness to obtain certification, as applicable to the role
• A friendly, professional approach and strong communication skills
• Dependability, attention to detail, and good organizational skills
• A team-oriented attitude and willingness to learn
• Comfort working in a busy dental practice
• Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental practice management software is a plus
