Harbor Pines Veterinary Center | Harbor City, California

Join a team where great medicine and genuine relationships go hand in hand.

At Harbor Pines Veterinary Center, we believe the best veterinary care starts with people who genuinely enjoy what they do. We've been caring for the pets and families of Harbor City and the South Bay for years, building lasting relationships while providing high-quality medicine in a collaborative, supportive environment.

We're looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician who takes pride in hands-on patient care, enjoys working as part of a close team, and wants to keep growing their skills. RVTs are preferred, but we also welcome experienced unlicensed technicians who are ready to pursue licensure. We will help you get there.

What You'll Do

  • Assist doctors with exams, treatments, and procedures, and provide compassionate nursing care to hospitalized patients.
  • Perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, administer medications, and run in-house laboratory diagnostics.
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgery, including patient prep, instrument handling, and recovery.
  • Take and position patients for radiographs and assist with other diagnostic imaging.
  • Educate clients on preventive care, home care, and treatment plans with patience and clarity.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough medical records and help keep the treatment area clean, stocked, and running smoothly.

What We're Looking For

  • Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in California preferred, or an experienced veterinary technician/assistant who is eligible and motivated to pursue licensure.
  • Hands-on experience in a small animal practice, including anesthesia monitoring and laboratory work, is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with both clients and teammates.
  • A team-first attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and organized in a busy hospital.
  • Genuine compassion for animals and the people who love them.

Why Harbor Pines Veterinary Center?

  • Established, well-regarded hospital with a loyal client base.
  • Collaborative team of doctors, technicians, and support staff who enjoy working together and supporting one another.
  • Modern equipment and resources that let you practice skilled, hands-on technical medicine.
  • Varied small animal caseload with opportunities to grow your skills in surgery, dentistry, and diagnostics.
  • Healthy work-life balance with a team that values family and personal time.
  • Competitive hourly pay, based on experience and licensure.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including:
    • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
    • 401(k) with company match
    • Paid time off
    • Continuing education allowance and CE opportunities
    • RVT license and renewal fee reimbursement
    • Tuition reimbursement for unlicensed technicians working toward their RVT credential
    • Employee pet discounts
