What You'll DoAs a Security Officer, you will help ensure the safety and security of our students, staff, visitors, and facilities by:
- Conducting routine foot and vehicle patrols throughout campus.
- Monitoring campus activity and responding to safety concerns, suspicious behavior, and emergencies.
- Enforcing campus policies, procedures, and security regulations fairly and professionally.
- Performing security inspections of buildings, grounds, and facilities.
- Assisting staff with conflict resolution and responding to disturbances when necessary.
- Conducting preliminary investigations and documenting incidents accurately.
- Controlling parking and traffic flow on campus.
- Enforcing student pass and visitor access procedures.
- Providing escort services for students, staff, and visitors as needed.
- Building positive relationships with students while promoting a safe and respectful campus culture.
- Responding calmly and effectively during emergencies and critical incidents.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support campus operations.

- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other basic computer applications.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Six (6) months of experience in security, law enforcement, military, corrections, public safety, or a related field preferred.
- Knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and crowd management.
- Experience working in an educational or residential setting is a plus.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement within three (3) months of hire.
- Water Safety Certification required or the ability to obtain certification as required.

This position requires the ability to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Patrol indoor and outdoor areas in varying weather conditions.
- Bend, kneel, stoop, and reach as needed.
- Lift and carry light objects.
- Operate computers, radios, and other communication equipment.
- Respond quickly to emergencies and physically intervene when necessary to maintain a safe environment.
