About the role
- The product development role will manage the development of product innovations that excite markets and drive growth for consumer–packaged goods brands in skincare, body care, cosmetics, and/or baby care categories. This position manages the development execution of new product innovation, product reformulations when needed, retailer sell sheets and trend presentations. This is a fully in-office position, M - F. Relocation not provided.
What you'll do
- Collaborates with the Sr. Product Development Manager to identify and recommend new product concepts, formulations, and innovations that align with brand strategies and business goals.
- Manages product budgets and cost targets throughout the development process to ensure projects meet margin and profitability expectations.
- Conducts market and trend analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive differentiation across assigned categories.
- Partners with R&D and packaging suppliers to develop effective formulas and packaging solutions.
- Prepares and manages product briefs, specifications, and samples for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinates cross-functional communication among teams including Marketing, Project Managers, and Regulatory to ensure project alignment and successful execution.
- Ensures product compliance with applicable regulations and internal quality standards through collaboration with relevant teams and external agencies.
- Supports the creation of marketing and sales tools, including sell sheets, promotional samples, and product presentations to drive customer engagement and retail success.
- Contributes to process improvements, recommending ways to streamline product development workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Develops and manages project timelines in collaboration with the Project management team, proactively addressing challenges and reporting milestones to ensure on-time, in-scope product launches.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a project management and/or product development role.
- Excellent planning, organization, and follow-up skills.
- High attention to detail
- Good understanding of new product launch process and development steps.
- Logical thinker, sound analytical approach to solving problems.
- Ability to develop solutions in ambiguous situations.
- Adapts well to change in timelines and business needs.
- Must be highly collaborative and communicate well with experts in a variety of departments.
- Excellent project management skills and follow up communication.
- Clear written and verbal communication across levels and departments.
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Asana.
- CPG experience is a must, beauty category experience preferred.
