Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experience Property Accountant to join our real estate team in San Pedro, CA. This role is responsible for managing the financial reporting and accounting functions for a portfolio of commercial and residential properties. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of real estate accounting, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day accounting, such as journal entries and review AR
- Review coding accuracy in AP
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for multiple properties on an accrual and cash basis
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
- Ensure timely delivery and accurate financial reports to internal stakeholders, managers, and lenders
- Prepare/maintain supporting schedules for the financial statements
- Maintain general ledgers and ensure accuracy of all financial transactions
- Strong knowledge of lease administration and CAM estimates/reconciliations
- Utilize Yardi software for property management and accounting tasks
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Coordinate with property managers to resolve financial discrepancies
- Support external audits and tax preparation processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience preferable in real estate/property management
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
Proficiency with Yardi preferred
Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines
