Electric Motor Shop Assistant in St. Louis, Missouri at Galco Industrial Electronics

State Motor and Control Solutions started in 1946. We specialize in electric motors, motor controls, VFD's, control packages and also provide electrical motor repair.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Electric Motor Shop Assistant to join our team at State Motor and Control Solutions - a Galco company. This is a full-time position with a consistent schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. In this role, you will support daily shop operations, manage incoming inventory, and ensure our technicians have the supplies they need to keep workflow moving efficiently.

Work Location: St. Louis Missouri

Key Responsibilities
• Log & Entry: Monitor warehouse docks for incoming motors for repair, and promptly log and enter each unit as upcoming work into our system.
• Inventory Tracking: Track, manage, and order shop supplies and materials as required to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Operational Support: Assist the Shop Manager with daily scheduling, workflow organization, and team communication.

Qualifications & Physical Requirements
• Software Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Industry Familiarity: Prior experience in an electric motor shop, mechanical repair environment, or industrial warehouse setting is highly preferred.
• Skills: Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
