ACTIVITY DIRECTOR - Full-Time – Auburn Village, Auburn, IL

Responsibilities of the Activity Director:
- Planning, organizing, coordinating and executing a diversified and well-planned activity program which includes recreational, religious, social, physical, intellectual and community-service oriented programs
- Plan monthly activity calendar and submit it to Graphic Designer for printing and delivery to facility before 1st of month
- Creating and maintaining a positive atmosphere of warmth and kindness, as well as a calm environment throughout the facility
- Planning and implementing suitable activities for residents who are not able or willing to attend regularly-scheduled activities
- Ensure each patient is evaluated initially and periodically to determine his or her backgrounds, interests, abilities, physical and emotional needs and limitations for the purpose of planning meaningful programs
of the Activity Director:
- B.A. or B.S. in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Education or Social Service OR, Minimum of high school education with Activity Director Certification
- Two to three years of experience in group activity programming or an equivalent
- Management experience much preferred
- Knowledge of JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH and HFS regulations relevant to activities
- Must have ability to teach, organize, initiate and take responsibility for programs targeted for seniors or physically challenged
- Knowledge of the community and community resources
- Must be personable, professional and cooperative with all residents, families and staff
