Job Description

Description: Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, train, coach, and develop production, warehouse, and shipping personnel.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, high-performance team culture focused on communication, consistency, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable to performance, quality, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular employee training, performance evaluations, and ongoing development conversations.
  • Promote cross-training and operational flexibility throughout the department.
  • Lead by example through professionalism, organization, urgency, and teamwork.
Production Planning & Operations
  • Fully understand, perform, and evaluate all production department job functions.
  • Develop and manage daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer demand and company objectives.
  • Coordinate roasting support, packaging, warehouse, and shipping activities to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Monitor production progress and make staffing, workflow, and scheduling adjustments as needed to maintain efficiency and on-time fulfillment.
  • Drive operational improvements that increase throughput, reduce waste, improve accuracy, and support scalable growth.
  • Ensure all production documentation and operational records are accurate and completed properly.
Resource & Inventory Management
  • Manage labor, equipment, materials, and operational resources to support production goals.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of green coffee, roasted coffee, packaging materials, and operational supplies.
  • Partner with purchasing and inventory teams to prevent shortages, delays, or production interruptions.
  • Monitor labor utilization, productivity, and departmental operating costs to support budget objectives.
  • Help identify and implement systems and process improvements that improve operational efficiency.
Quality & Food Safety
  • Maintain and enforce quality control standards to ensure products consistently meet company and customer expectations.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support and maintain third-party audit standards including SQF, GMP, HACCP, and USDA Organic certifications.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and product handling throughout the facility.
Safety & Facility Standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Implement and enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.
  • Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure production equipment is properly maintained and operating safely and efficiently.
Communication & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate closely with customer service, purchasing, quality assurance and executive leadership teams.
  • Communicate production schedules, operational challenges, and fulfillment updates proactively.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to operational strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis of operational performance metrics.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of production, manufacturing, warehouse, or operations management experience
  • Previous leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment & knowledge of Employment laws as they relate to managing a team
  • Food manufacturing, roasting, or packaged goods experience preferred
  • Familiarity with SQF, GMP, HACCP, USDA Organic, or other food safety programs
  • Experience using ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Experience with Scheduling, Timecard Approvals & Hiring
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Degree or Trade School Logistics Management Preferred but not required
