Job Description

Classification: Full Time - Exempt

Reports to: Vice President of Product Management

Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing all assigned Xtant products and working directly with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and R&D departments to promote Xtant products, aide in the development of new products, provide technical assistance to the sales force and distributors, and gather information on the design, performance, and utilization of Xtant products. This position will act as a liaison between many departments within the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant industry standards and regulations including but not limited to 21 CFR 820, 21 CFR 1271, AATB, MDSAP (per jurisdictional requirements), and ISO 13485, ensuring compliance with these requirements across the organization.
  • Actively contribute to the fulfillment of Xtant Medical’s mission, values and quality policy
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and ensure proper disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste according to OSHA guidelines and Xtant Medical standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of Xtant Medical products
  • Understand the interaction of departmental activities with the Quality System and their impact on the production of medical devices and human cells, tissues, and cellular and tissue-based products (HCT/Ps)
  • Adhere to Xtant Medical SOPs, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and safety protocols
  • Uses market research to develop product growth strategy that includes customer segmentation, development of new products, and increased market penetration for short, medium, and long-term planning
  • Builds multigenerational product plans with voice of customer inputs
  • Collect and analyze the performance of new products by collecting data for key metrics and reporting out the performance
  • Manage day-to-day progress of assigned product lines
  • Builds and reviews forecast for product requirements and develops plans to be ahead of market needs
  • Work with senior marketing members, Operations, Accounting, and Sales to most effectively manage inventory based on current and projected sales volumes as needed
  • Responsible for developing marketing materials along with the Marketing Department for new product launches or updates to existing or old literature, advertising ideas, direction, conference support, etc.
  • Produce competitive analysis and materials comparing product with its key competitors
  • Aiding in the creation and maintenance of training and in-service materials for product line and conduct product trainings and seminars to internal and external personnel as requested
  • Effectively communicate updates on products, the market, and competitive activities with Sales, Customer Service, National Accounts, R&D
  • Provide technical support to the sales force and travel to assist in meeting sales objectives as needed
  • Work with senior marketing members to conduct on-going research to define market needs (includes interfacing with hospital personnel, surgeons, nurses, and sales representatives, surgical observation, and literature review) to develop and maintain product lines
  • Support the development and launch of new products and gather post-market feedback by serving as the interface between surgeons, end users, R&D, and QA/QC
  • Serve as a point of communication between R&D, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to make sure new products are effectively introduced to the market in a coordinated fashion

    • Financial Responsibilities

  • Submit timely expense reports and abide by the Expense Reimbursement Policy

    • Training

  • Complete required training, including but not limited to initial orientation and environmental health and safety training prior to performing tasks
  • Participate in training programs, ensuring timely completion and accurate, up-to-date training records
  • Complete annual SOP review and safety training (i.e. OSHA, bloodborne pathogens) as applicable
  • May require OSHA (bloodborne pathogen) training, SDS, and other safety training as applicable

    • Document Control and Record Control

  • Complete all documentation accurately and legibly per GDP, retain records according to Xtant Medical’s procedures, and review others’ documentation as needed

    • Performance of Duties

  • Perform duties and responsibilities to the highest standards with efficiency, professionalism, and attention to detail; adapt to job changes and contribute to team success
  • Represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner in all aspects of interaction with fellow employees, surgeons, staff, and end users
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor and recipient information according to HIPAA

    • Required Skills/Abilities

  • Must be able to reason independently and work with minimum supervision

  • Must be able to prepare and make presentations to staff, clients, potential clients, and others as required
  • Proficient computer skills required such as knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

    • Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Masters or MBA preferred
  • One (1) to three (3) years of spine or orthobiologic product knowledge is required

    • Working Conditions

  • This position is based in an office environment
  • Standard work hours are Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with evening or weekend work based on project/production needs
  • Work will require periodic travel. The amount of travel will vary depending on business needs, with an estimated 50% of the time spent on travel monthly
  • This position is fully remote based in the United States, with potential flexible hours available based on department needs
  • Working conditions may include a laboratory setting, environmentally controlled area (ECA), cleanrooms, and other sterile environments with varying temperatures
  • Adhere to all health and safety requirements specified when entering laboratory and device manufacturing areas and in the handling of company products
  • This position will sometimes be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including laboratory coat, scrubs, gloves, etc.
  • Hepatitis B vaccine is highly recommended and provided to employees who may have contact with human tissue at no cost to the employee. Any employee who declines a Hepatitis B vaccine will be required to sign a waiver

    • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull items of varying weight, typically up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to move, bend, or twist the body in various ways
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions, such as reaching, grasping, bending, squatting, and stooping
  • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for tasks such as typing, using hand tools or equipment, and assembling or handling small components with precision
  • Ability to see clearly, whether with or without corrective lenses
  • Ability to hear and understand safety signals, alarms, and customer requests in a noisy environment
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle as required by the position. This includes the ability to drive for extended periods, in various weather conditions, and on different road types (urban, rural, highways, etc.)
