Corporate Development Director

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Corporate Development Director based in United States.

This role is designed for an experienced corporate development leader who can identify, evaluate, and execute strategic opportunities that accelerate business growth.
You will operate at the intersection of strategy, technology, and market expansion, shaping initiatives that influence long-term organizational direction.
The position combines M&A expertise, partnership development, financial analysis, and strategic planning to drive high-impact decisions.
You will work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate opportunities, structure transactions, and deliver measurable business value.

Accountabilities:

As a Corporate Development Director, you will lead strategic growth initiatives, including partnerships, investments, and mergers and acquisitions. You will act as a strategic advisor to leadership teams, translating market opportunities into actionable plans and driving execution across complex, high-value initiatives.

  • Source, evaluate, and lead strategic partnerships, investments, and business development opportunities that support long-term growth objectives.
  • Manage end-to-end M&A processes, including opportunity identification, due diligence, valuation, transaction structuring, negotiation, and integration planning.
  • Develop financial models, valuation analyses, and scenario assessments to support investment and strategic decisions.
  • Structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including strategic alliances, technology partnerships, and joint ventures.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with industry partners, ecosystem stakeholders, and strategic organizations.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging opportunities, risks, and industry trends.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to executive leadership by transforming complex information into clear insights and actionable decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, Product, Engineering, Operations, and other teams to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, transaction materials, and strategic documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support long-term corporate strategy development and planning through data-driven analysis and market intelligence.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in corporate development, investment strategy, and complex transaction execution, combined with strong business judgment and the ability to operate in high-growth environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, JD, or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in corporate development, private equity, investment banking, strategy consulting, or related fields.
  • Proven experience leading complex M&A transactions, strategic partnerships, investments, or corporate development initiatives from evaluation through execution.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation methodologies, transaction structuring, and investment analysis.
  • Experience working within defense, aerospace, advanced technology, AI, autonomy, robotics, software, or other technology-driven industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and provide strategic guidance in ambiguous and high-stakes environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex analyses clearly to executive and board-level audiences.
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Highly autonomous and proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Experience working in an internal corporate development function is strongly preferred.
