Senior Director, Revenue Cycle Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director, Revenue Cycle Management based in United States.

This executive-level role provides strategic leadership over the full revenue cycle function, driving operational excellence and financial performance across the organization.
The position focuses on building scalable processes across authorizations, billing, accounts receivable, collections, and payer operations.
You will use data-driven insights to improve revenue outcomes, strengthen compliance, and optimize financial workflows.
The ideal candidate will combine healthcare revenue expertise with strong leadership skills to guide teams and influence cross-functional initiatives.
This role plays a critical part in improving operational efficiency, protecting revenue streams, and supporting long-term organizational growth.
You will collaborate with clinical, finance, compliance, and operational stakeholders in a remote environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities:

The Senior Director, Revenue Cycle Management will oversee the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of revenue operations while ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and strong team performance.

  • Provide executive leadership for the full revenue cycle lifecycle, including authorizations, billing operations, accounts receivable, collections, and payment processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce days in accounts receivable, improve cash flow, and maximize collection performance.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity across payment postings, adjustments, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
  • Design and optimize authorization workflows to prevent revenue leakage and support uninterrupted patient care.
  • Partner with clinical, finance, and compliance teams to align operational processes with payer requirements and organizational objectives.
  • Oversee private-pay invoicing and collection strategies while maintaining a positive and supportive financial experience for families.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for payer disputes, reimbursement challenges, underpayment trends, and policy changes.
  • Ensure compliance with CPT coding, modifiers, payer-specific billing requirements, and healthcare revenue regulations.
  • Establish executive-level revenue cycle KPIs, including clean claim rates, first-pass resolution, denial trends, and collection performance metrics.
  • Leverage reporting tools, EHR data, and business intelligence insights to identify improvement opportunities and optimize operational decisions.
  • Lead denial prevention strategies, appeals processes, and recovery initiatives to protect organizational revenue.
  • Drive automation initiatives, system enhancements, and technology improvements across revenue cycle operations.
  • Manage change initiatives related to payer updates, system implementations, and operational improvements.
  • Mentor, develop, and lead billing and authorization teams while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings extensive healthcare revenue cycle leadership experience, strong analytical capabilities, and a proven ability to optimize complex billing and reimbursement operations.

  • Minimum of five years of healthcare, hospital, billing, and collections experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations, including authorizations, physician billing, claims management, and collections.
  • Experience managing Medicaid billing processes for primary and secondary reimbursement.
  • Familiarity with ABA healthcare operations is preferred.
  • Experience with CentralReach or similar healthcare management platforms is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered.
  • Strong knowledge of billing software, EHR systems, spreadsheet tools, and reporting platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review financial data, identify trends, and create operational forecasts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills when working with executives, payers, regulatory organizations, clinicians, and patients.
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, ethical practices, and HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
