Job Description

Description:

Creativity is calling. This isn't just a summer job, it's a mission.

Spend your summer helping campers make something with their own hands. As a Craft Shop Associate, you'll teach craft and leather projects, adapt them for every age and skill level, and send kids home with something they're proud of.

If you're looking for something that actually matters, not just a paycheck, this is it.

What You'll Do
  • Instruct and assist campers in craft and leather shop activities
  • Adapt projects by age and skill level
  • Keep inventory updated and activity areas clean and organized
  • Prep materials and spaces before camp sessions begin
  • Ensure camper projects are labeled, stored, and returned properly
  • Maintain daily task lists and assist in the Leather Shop when needed
  • Join evening events and chapel when available
  • Assist with camper arrival and departure on weekends
  • Participate in camp activities planned by the Recreation and Ministry Departments, primarily after dinner hours
  • Flex into other roles and temporary assignments as needed
What You Get
  • $275/week + housing and meals included
  • Hands-on instruction experience across craft and leatherworking
  • Live on-site with a built-in community
  • Teaching and program delivery experience that stands out on a resume
  • A summer that impacts lives, including your own
Important Role Details
  • This is a live-in, residential role
  • Requires active participation in a Christian ministry environment
Requirements:

What We're Looking For

  • A professing Christian with a personal faith
  • Creativity and comfort working with your hands
  • Patience and the ability to break a project down for different ages and skill levels
  • Organization and attention to detail in managing materials and camper projects
  • Interest in teaching and working with youth
  • Willingness to be fully engaged in a live-in summer camp environment

Physical Requirements

  • Able to stand for extended periods and work in a hands-on shop environment
  • Able to lift and move up to 35 pounds
Summer Schedule
  • Staff Training: June 1 – June 12
  • Camp Sessions: June 13 – August 7
Why This Role Matters

You'll spend the summer teaching people who have never done this before. Figuring out how to explain the same step four different ways until it clicks is a skill that transfers to almost any work you do later. You'll also be there when a camper finishes something they didn't think they could make. That's a summer worth having.

If you love working with your hands, being creative, and making camp memorable, this role is for you.

Additional Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Employment is contingent on background and reference checks
