Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Case Aide supports the delivery of refugee youth services through the Refugee School Impact Program. Working under the direction of the Refugee Services Supervisor and Program Facilitators, this position assists with participant recruitment, enrollment, youth programming, documentation, transportation, and family engagement. The Case Aide helps ensure services are delivered in compliance with grant requirements, agency policies, and best practices while promoting positive educational and social outcomes for refugee youth and their families.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Participant Recruitment, Enrollment, and Support
· Assist in assessing participant needs and determining eligibility for program services.
· Assist in enrollment of eligible refugee families into the Program.
· Support participants and families in accessing educational and community resources.
· Maintain respectful and culturally responsive relationships with youth and caregivers.
2. Youth Programming Support
· Assist with planning and delivering after-school, in-school, school break, and summer programming.
· Assist with youth activities, ensuring a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
· Prepare materials and support logistics for program activities and special events.
3. Documentation and Recordkeeping
· Prepare and maintain case files, attendance records, and other required documentation as directed.
· Enter data into agency systems and complete documentation within established timelines.
· Ensure records are accurate, complete, and compliant with contractual and agency requirements.
4. Transportation and Home Visits
· Transport participants to and from program activities, appointments, and other approved services as needed.
· Conduct home visits with refugee youth and their families, in coordination with program staff.
· Follow all agency transportation, safety, and confidentiality policies.
5. School and Community Collaboration
· Communicate and follow up with school personnel and community partners as directed.
· Represent the Program and Catholic Charities in the community.
· Respond to inquiries and provide information regarding program services.
6. Team Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
· Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
· Perform additional duties as assigned to support program goals and agency mission.
· Performs other duties as required.
Requirements:EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Graduation from high school or equivalent.
2. Experience working with children and diverse cultures.
3. Must possess and maintain throughout employment in this position a valid driver’s license. Must achieve and maintain diocesan Approved Driver status throughout employment.
4. Work with discretion and communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, participants, and the public in a culturally diverse working environment; communicate fluently, orally and inwriting, in the English language.
5. Ability to drive and transport participants safely
6. Ability to travel to schools, homes, and community locations
7. Frequently lifts and carries materials weighing up to 25 pounds
8. Frequently sits, stands, walks, and actively supervises youth for extended periods
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Responsibilities of the Case Aide - Refugee Youth may involve travel and work beyond the regularly scheduled workday, and will involve direct interactions with program participants, including in the participants’ home, agency/personal vehicle or various public settings.
Schedule: Part-Time, approximately 20–25 hours per week. Schedule may include afternoons, evenings, occasional weekends, and increased hours during school breaks and summer programming.
