Position Summary
E.R. Services is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Manager to lead our residential HVAC service and maintenance operations in Charlotte, NC. This role is responsible for overseeing daily service operations, developing and coaching technicians, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and driving department performance through operational excellence and accountability.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong residential HVAC background who thrives in a fast-paced home services environment. This position plays a critical role in supporting technician development, improving service quality, increasing customer retention, and ensuring the department consistently delivers reliable, high-quality service to homeowners throughout the Charlotte market.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Residential Service & Maintenance Operations
- Lead daily residential HVAC service and maintenance operations.
- Monitor technician performance, productivity, customer satisfaction, and service quality.
- Support technicians with technical troubleshooting and escalated customer concerns.
- Partner with dispatch to maximize scheduling efficiency and customer responsiveness.
- Oversee residential maintenance agreement execution and growth.
- Lead and support HVAC Install Technicians and Installation Leads.
- Ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company and manufacturer standards.
- Monitor installation quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with the service team to ensure a seamless customer experience from diagnosis through equipment replacement.
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop HVAC Service, Maintenance, and Install Technicians.
- Conduct ride-alongs, field training, and performance reviews.
- Establish clear expectations and accountability for safety, customer service, and performance.
- Review operational metrics and implement improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and licensing requirements.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer service excellence.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of residential HVAC industry experience.
- 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing HVAC technicians.
- Strong knowledge of residential HVAC service, maintenance, repair, and installation operations.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop field technicians.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- Active HVAC license preferred upon hire; required within the first 90 days of employment if not currently held.
- Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service management software.
- NATE Certification or equivalent HVAC certifications.
- Experience leading residential and commercial HVAC service and installation teams in a fast-paced home services environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and inspect job sites as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in office, field, outdoor, attic, crawlspace, warehouse, and jobsite environments.
- Ability to travel between company locations and job sites as needed.
