Job Description
Provide financial leadership in plant for Fort Wayne, Guilford, & Ashland Plant Managers and NA Operations Controller. Prepare internal financial reporting, budgets, standard cost, and cost savings initiatives, involving the control and data reporting of diversified product plants. Work closely with plant staff and collaborate with all plant functional areas to support accurate financial forecasts and annual business plans. Lead efforts at the local level to mitigate risk which includes maintaining proper internal controls to ensure proper safeguarding of company assets. Provide financial analysis and guidance to communicate manufacturing variances as well as deviations from forecasts and business plans.
Forecasting, Planning, Budgeting & Reporting
- Work closely with plant staff and collaborate with all plant functional areas to support accurate financial forecasts and annual business plans.
- Provide periodic forecasts as required by company guidelines which are credible, achievable, and based on appropriate assumptions in collaboration with other departments.
- Lead diversified plants in the development of annual operating plans and budgets.
- Monitor, analyze, and report variances from plan/forecasts and recommend corrective action.
- Provide timely and accurate data to Corporate Accounting and other areas, as appropriate, with information required to satisfy financial statement and other regulatory disclosures.
- Support monthly closing process and assist Corporate Accounting with reconciliations as required.
- Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and disclosures provided where necessary.
- Assist with the annual external audit at the request of Corporate Accounting.
Financial Operational Analysis & Management Support
- Provide financial leadership in plant for Fort Wayne, Guilford, and Ashland Plant Managers and the NA Operations Controller.
- Develop reports and analyze financial and operational metrics as required from Plant Management and the NA Operations Controller.
- Support and provide analysis of capital expenditures for approval and review.
- Coordinate with plant Supply Chain Managers on physical inventory process and reconciliation.
- Provide audit oversight to monthly inventory counts.
- Understand and communicate cost drivers and profitability ramifications of business actions.
- Provide financial analysis and guidance to communicate manufacturing variances as well as deviations from forecasts and business plans.
- Conduct special projects or studies at the direction of the NA Operations Controller and Plant Management.
Cost Accounting & Standard Cost Management
- Support internal standard cost initiatives involving the control and data reporting of diversified product plants.
- Ensure that system bills of materials and routers are accurate for roll-up of standard costs; ensure all are adhered to and maintained in a timely manner.
- Support update of standard costs and perform periodic review of standard cost rates.
Internal Controls, Risk Management & Compliance
- Lead efforts at the local level to mitigate risk, including maintaining proper internal controls to ensure proper safeguarding of company assets.
- Ensure compliance with company risk management initiatives including internal controls, procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and disclosure, and compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide support for all procedures/systems which safeguard and protect company assets.
- Ensure adherence to policies and procedures as established by Rea.
Position Specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field with relevant experience
- 5+ years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, report writing, and communication skills.
- Skills in financial analysis, business planning and forecasting
- Knowledgeable of processes and procedures utilized in the generation and maintenance of standard costs.
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload and willingness and ability to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
- Travel to other plants as required.
