| Job Summary | The Martin-Gatton College of Agriculture Food and Environment, Food department of Entomology seeks a Laboratory Technician Senior. Under the direction of the project director, the Laboratory Technician Senior will assist in the management of a research program on molecular analysis of hormone action, insecticide resistance and RNA interference. This technician will be responsible for ordering supplies, maintaining inventory of chemicals and other materials, overseeing lab safety and training students. This position includes excellent benefits and provides opportunities for professional development including tuition credit for graduate studies. | Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Data collection, rearing and collecting of arthropods and plants, organization of laboratory, ordering of supplies, supervision of undergraduate student workers and coordination of graduate student research projects. Knowledge of experimental design and statistical analysis, scientific writing, editing and proof reading, knowledge of molecular biology. |

| Preferred Education/Experience | BS in Biology or Entomology required, preferred MS in Entomology with emphasis on physiology; one to two years of experience in molecular methods or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Driver’s license preferred. |
