Job Description

Position Summary

As a stocking distributor of cable and electrical products, this position will be primarily responsible for the receiving, inspection, packaging, inventory control and final processing of electrical parts and kits. This role will also serve as a backup for cable cutting, packing and inventory management of cable items.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify proper specifications identified on pick tickets for job orders
  • Inspect products to ensure within specifications
  • Packaging products for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling) both physically and complete packaging process digitally in Rubicon (Company’s ERP system)
  • Staging products for loading
  • Loading & unloading products to/from trucks
  • Move received products to warehouse storage maintaining organization and ensuring products are stored in the correct locations.
  • Utilize Rubicon (Company’s ERP system) system for electrical parts and print labels for product to be shipped
  • Printing and adhering new and replacement labels for Electrical Parts
  • Understand customer special requirements and differences to master final order verification
  • Lead the inventory of physical goods by cycle counting annually, looking for variances between the physical count and the digital count, using a rolling inventory schedule across the calendar year
  • Assist in final parcel labeling of all shipments (UPS & FedEx ground)
  • Responsible for Electrical Parts quality control per ISO policies and procedures
  • Operating within safety guidelines and procedures
  • Effectively communicate with other warehouse and office employees
  • Cleaning and maintaining work area weekly
  • Moving waste to dumpsters
  • Operating forklift
  • Turning off and locking out equipment and computers when not in use
  • Problem solving to resolve issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Assist as a backup for other warehouse workers, including but not limited to:

  • Printing and adhering new and replacement labels for Reels
  • Picking inventory for cable cutting and shipping preparation
  • Set up cable cutting machines to job specifications
  • Transfer and cut cable to required reels for shipment preparation
  • Minimize scrap through proper operation, maintenance, and set up of machines
  • Utilize Rubicon software system for cut cable and print labels for product to be shipped
  • Basic maintenance and trouble-shooting of wire cutting machines for proper set up and operation.
  • Monthly calibration verification of Cable Cutter Clock Counters
  • Communicate problems with machine operation and set up to supervision
  • Return unused stock to storage
  • Performing preventive maintenance on forklift
  • Performing back-up for other warehouse workers

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must possess or be able to successfully obtain and maintain a valid forklift certification within 15 days of hire. Company will provide certification
  • Must possess a reliable personal smartphone capable of supporting mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) protocols required for daily system access.
  • Basic computer skills to effectively perform job responsibilities
  • Problem-solving, ability to evaluate a problem to find an effective solution
  • Communication with colleagues about work to be done and assistance needed.
  • Forward thinking, anticipating next task(s) rather than waiting for work to be assigned
  • Strong collaborative mindset with a willingness to step outside of core responsibilities; proactively identifies business needs and shifts focus or assists other departments without needing direct supervision.
  • Residence within a designated SBA Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) is strongly preferred but not required. Candidates are encouraged to check their address eligibility via the official SBA HUBZone Map tool.

Physical Demand & Work Environment

  • This is a 100% on-site, in-person position based at our [City/Location] facility. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 lbs independently, and heavier amounts with assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach overhead, and crouch for extended periods
  • Strong manual dexterity for handling small parts, operating handheld scanners, and taping boxes. Excellent peripheral vision and hearing are required to navigate busy warehouse floors safely.
  • Fast-paced environment with moving pedestrian traffic, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
  • Must be comfortable working in close proximity to heavy operating machinery.
  • Must strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toed footwear.
