Summary of Responsibilities: A successful candidate will have qualifications and experience to teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate cybersecurity courses which could include Principles of Cybersecurity, Unix & Linux Programming, Ethical Hacking, Digital Forensics, Intrusion Detection & Prevention, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Cloud Security, Incident Response, Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity, among others.

There is also the possibility of serving as the Director of the Cybersecurity program for the right candidate.

Essential Responsibilities: (These essential responsibilities are those the individual must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.)

Teach twelve contact hours per semester.Adequately prepare all course materials and lessons (Note: preparation time will vary based on instructor experience in teaching that course).Provide each student with clear course expectations, evaluations, and timelines through carefully written topical outlines and approved syllabus per faculty established guidelines.Provide interesting and relevant assignments for students that demonstrate learning outcomes in a real-life setting.Suitably challenge, engage, support, and communicate with students to encourage their participation and learning while maintaining mutual value and respect.Provide timely grades to students through college software and upload mid-term and final grades by college deadlines.Respond to student questions on a timely basis.Ensure course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the syllabus.

Specific Responsibilities:

Candidate must possess the ability to respond quickly to a changing industry landscape and be able to adapt courses to accommodate the most recent developments.Candidate must be a team player who is committed to the cooperative success of the program.Candidate should be able to maintain the department’s Security Lab consisting of 24 Linux workstations, 1 forensic workstation running MSAB forensic software, 1 Fortinet firewall, 1 locally developed cloud computing cluster.

Qualifications:

Minimum: Education/Certification: Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity or a closely related field from an accredited U.S. college/university or international equivalent.Experience: Prior successful college-level teaching experience, strong hands-on technical skills with Linux, hacking, forensics, and networking.Christian Commitment: An eligible candidate must be a thoughtful and articulate Christian and an active member of a Protestant evangelical Christian church. Preference will be given to the candidate who supports and has an articulate understanding of the Reformed faith. An eligible candidate must understand and support the College’s “Foundational Concepts of Christian Education” by expressing an evangelical Christian profession of faith and demonstrate the ability to integrate a Christian perspective in their work. Preferred: Education/Certification: PhD in Cybersecurity or a closely related field from an accredited U.S. college/university or international equivalent.Experience: Previous full-time successful higher education teaching experience preferred. Relevant industry experience preferred. Experience guiding individual student research opportunities. Academic or industry leadership experience.
