This opening is for a full time individual who can work the following schedule: Tues, Wed, & Thur 1 pm to 10 pm and Fri & Sat 4 pm to 1 am. This schedule includes a 1 hour meal break.

Hours may vary or go later into the evening depending on events. Having flexibility to stay late is a must in this position. The majority of work is done inside the Village's Cultural Center, but may on occasion require to work outdoors. The candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly, frequently bend, twist, stand, walk and kneel.

Main duties include organization, set up of the facility for rental or special events, and monitoring events in progress. Set up requires reading floor plan layouts, moving tables, chairs and other miscellaneous equipment, and even a dance floor. Break down of all the items are done after the conclusion of the event and are to be properly secured and put away.

Janitorial duties in the facility consist of removal of trash from all rooms and restrooms, cleaning trash bins as needed, cleaning all areas including kitchens, drinking fountains, restrooms, meetings rooms, AV room, and vacuuming or mopping areas inside the building. Bathrooms must be cleaned and disinfected, toilet bowls, sinks and surrounding surfaces should be cleaned throughout the shift. Glass surfaces such as mirror, doors and windows are to be cleaned and free of loose debris such as tape.

Position is to always monitor and replenish supplies such as paper products and soap before, during and after events.

When needed, this position may perform general building aesthetics including minor repairs, minor touch up painting, trash pickup outside of building in parking area, and light washing/dusting of walls, baseboards, and lighting fixtures.

Upon building inspections, they are to report larger repairs and generate a repair request. Perform periodic checks of outlets/receptacles, lighting, furniture, fixtures, etc. for repairs needed.

Is responsible to do a complete security checks, locking and securing the facility at time of closing and opens facilities for public use in the mornings.

Individual must be courteous and comfortable communicating with patrons who need assistance during a function or using the building. They are to direct patrons and customers to the proper person for bookings and additional information on rentals or facility use.

On occasion, facility attendant must assist with documenting an accident or assisting a patron/customer with regard to injuries, accidents and or complaints.

The Village is part of the Florida Retirement System, and therefore every employee must make a mandatory contribution of 3% of Gross Earnings for contribution towards retirement.
