Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform duties to support the efforts in the development, coordination and maintenance of the internal pharmacy department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate or equivalent Excellent organizational and communication skills At least 3 years of medical experience, medical terminology and knowledge of medications. Proficiency in computer software programs Able to pass basic background check for criminal history, drug screening & OIG exclusions
ROLE AND RESPONSBILITIES:
Receive and process incoming prescription requests daily within pharmacy software –
identify accurate pharmacy benefits; run eligibility check; enter medication, diagnosis,
and submit claim(s); monitor electronic claims log; receive and respond to any rejections;
maintain log book; obtain payment and coordinate pick-up/delivery of prescription(s) with patients.
Responsible for accurate inventory control counts and reporting any identified
discrepancies in inventory control counts.
Resolve complaints and grievances related to the in-house pharmacy department. Post payments into pharmacy software as they are received from payers. Field inbound and outbound calls to patients and coordinate drug pick-up/delivery. Interface with staff at contact center and clinical sites regarding prescriptions and any patient concerns. Stays up to date and knowledgeable on pharmacy policies and procedures and compliance with ACHC accreditation standards.
Stays current on required annual trainings Other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager. Performs all duties and services in full compliance with the Southern Urology Core Values.

vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to
adjust focus.
Work environment:
Primarily clinic office setting. Constant contact with individuals from any backgrounds; potential exposure to communicable diseases. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Frequent stress from dealing with tense individuals in uncomfortable situations.
GENERAL SIGN-OFF: The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies.
OTHER BASIC SKILLS
Knowledge of working with a multi-line phone system, strong typing skills, medical terminology experience, and EMR knowledge preferred Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor Ability to work independently when required / appropriate
