Join our growing team as a Grading Superintendent, where you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects grading on a construction site, including managing crews, ensuring safety compliance, interpreting project plans, coordinating equipment, and maintaining quality control to achieve project deadlines and specifications, while reporting directly to the Project Manager; essentially leading all field operations related to earthwork and site preparation.

In this role you will:

• Review and understand project plans, specifications, and grading profiles to ensure accurate execution

• Develop and maintain detailed work schedules for grading crews, including daily tasks and production targets

• Monitor Project progress against the schedule and identify potential delays, taking corrective action as needed

• Lead and manage a team of grading operators, laborers, and Foremen

• Provide on-site training and coaching to ensure safety and quality standards are met

• Conduct performance evaluations and address any issues with crew members

Safety:

• Implement and enforce strict safety protocols on the job site

• Conduct regular safety meetings with crew members to address hazards and promote safe work practices

• Inform and investigate any safety incidents and take necessary corrective actions

Equipment Management:

• Coordinate the use and maintenance of grading equipment

• Ensure operators are properly trained to operate heavy equipment

Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports detailing work completed, production rates, and any challenges encountered

• Maintain accurate records of material quantities used and job site conditions

• Communicate effectively with the project manager regarding project status and any potential issues

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in construction site grading operations, including knowledge of different grading techniques

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications

• Strong leadership and supervisory skills to manage a diverse crew

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
