About the Role:

The Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas within the hospitality industry. This position ensures that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, contributing to the overall efficiency of food service operations. By adhering to health and safety standards, the Dishwasher helps prevent contamination and promotes a safe dining experience for guests. Additionally, this role supports kitchen staff by providing them with clean tools and equipment, allowing them to focus on food preparation and service. Ultimately, the Dishwasher's efforts are vital in creating a welcoming and hygienic environment for both staff and patrons.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and follow instructions in English.
  • Experience in a food service environment is preferred but not required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashing machines and manual methods.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area and ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling.
  • Assist in the organization and storage of clean dishes and utensils in designated areas.
  • Support kitchen staff by providing clean tools and equipment in a timely manner.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Skills:

The required skills for this position are essential for performing daily tasks effectively. Basic reading skills are necessary to understand cleaning instructions and safety guidelines. The ability to lift and carry heavy items is crucial for moving large pots, pans, and stacks of dishes. Standing for extended periods is a common requirement, as the Dishwasher will be on their feet throughout their shift. Flexibility in scheduling is important to accommodate the varying demands of the hospitality industry, while regular and reliable attendance ensures that the kitchen operates smoothly.

Benefits:

• Paid time off, 1 hour per every 40 hours worked up to year 3; 1.54 hours per every 40 hours worked thereafter; eligible after 90 days.

• Holiday Pay: Easter, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day paid 1.5 times base wage if worked, based on eligibility.

• Medical, dental, vision and life insurance plans available. Eligibility after 60 days, working 30 hours per week (average)
