JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
-
Focus services towards overcoming common barriers to therapies – prior authorizations and out-of-pocket costs. Working under the supervision of a pharmacist and alongside provider teams, advocates effectively to improve time-to-treatment, reduce patient/prescriber burdens, and promote therapy affordability. Ccoordinates with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure accuracy of procured services and optimization of patient therapies.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

Samaritan Pharmacy Services is a community pharmacy located in a multidisciplinary ambulatory clinic in Corvallis. The pharmacy is open to any member of the public. The primary role of this pharmacy is to dispense community patient prescriptions. They also offer immunizations, medication management services, and specialty medications. The pharmacy is staffed by experienced pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are dedicated to patient care.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
-
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

One (1) of the following required:
-
Current unencumbered Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.

One (1) year experience in retail pharmacy, prior authorization, financial assistance, billing and/or care coordination in a healthcare setting.

Experience in a physician clinic setting with medication assistance duties preferred.

Computer Literacy - Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware, software, and applications. Ability to operate applications, enter data, and process information.

Medical Terminology - Knowledge of medical records, procedures and terminology. Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.

Problem Solving - Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, employ creativity and alternative thinking to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Project Management - Ability to organize, plan and prioritize multiple fast-moving projects with changing priorities, drivers and dependencies. Ability to work effectively independently or as part of an integrated team to achieve a goal.

Systems Analysis/ Evaluation - Knowledge of how a system works and how changes will affect outcomes. Ability to identify measures of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance to meet certain goals.

Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
