- Expected Hours of Work: Flexible scheduling - Daytime, evening, and weekend hours.

Job Summary:

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Outgoing, friendly demeanor.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to follow established schedule and communicate any necessary or desired changes according to established policies.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar environment preferred.
  • ServSafe certification preferred.
  • TIPS certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
  • Welcome and warmly greet members. Make all members and guests feel comfortable and let them know you’re there to personally take care of them.
  • Develop relationships with members learning their dining preferences, special dietary needs, and special requests.
  • Assist members with selecting food and beverages by presenting menus; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions.
  • Make recommendations you genuinely feel the members will enjoy.
  • Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by entering members' choices in the POS system; identifying special dietary needs, and special requests.
  • Serve orders by picking up and delivering members' choices from bar and kitchen; delivering appropriate accompaniments and condiments.
  • Monitor and observe members’ dining experience. Ensure members are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
  • Check identification of members and guests to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Refuse to serve alcoholic beverages in a polite manner to members/guests who are not of legal age or are not able to produce proper identification.
  • If consuming alcoholic beverages, observe members’ behavior, count number of drinks served, and if you feel they should not drive, offer a taxi. Do not hesitate to ask a manager to intervene.
  • Prepare final bill, present to member, accept payment or apply charge to member’s account, present signature slip for member to sign.
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
  • Maintain clean service areas.
  • During down time, maintain an active presence by cleaning, sweeping, polishing glasses, and performing other necessary duties.
  • Protect establishment and members by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Thank members for their visit and invite them to return.

Physical Demands:

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

· Ability to bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and twist.

· Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls, and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.
