SUMMARY
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, and security of Sauk Valley Bank’s technology infrastructure including on-premises and cloud environments. This role manages and optimize3s servers, networks, virtualization, and cloud platforms, while ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements. The IT Systems Administrator collaborates with internal teams and external vendors, supports disaster recovery, and drives automation and process improvements. Occasional after-hour work may be required for special projects or emergency support.
The IT Systems Administrator assures compliance with all SVB policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Maintain, configure, and ensure reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services.
Administer Active Directory, Windows Containers, Ous, network accounts, login scripts, and group policies.
Provide first-contact support for IT incidents and requests, escalating as appropriate.
Serve as primary contact with software and hardware vendors, coordinate with outside vendors for system failures and repairs.
Identify, report, and remediate security vulnerabilities using patches, configurations, and security best practices.
Support and participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
Automate routine tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell) and automation tools.
Assist with preparing documentation for audits, regulatory exams, and compliance reviews.
Participate in IT Steering Committee, Business Continuity Team, and other bank committees as assigned.
Administer asset management/inventory for all IT systems and equipment.
Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and telecommunications solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
Assist with integration and support of new products and services across departments.
Support and mentor end users, providing excellent customer service and technical guidance.
Participate in community and non-profit initiatives as a representative of the bank.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor’s degree (BA) in IT, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years of relevant experience, preferably in the financial industry.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, SharePoint Online, and virtual servers.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (Azure, Entra ID, Intune) virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell).
- Security certifications (Microsoft Certified; Security, Azure Administrator) preferred.
- Strong networking and desktop support skills.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle with appropriate insurance *if required for duties).
- Ability to perform all duties safely and in compliance with health and safety standards.
The incumbent must be able to perform this position safely, without endangering health or safety to him/herself or others.

Salary Range: $50,000 - $80,000 annually depending on experience.
