Legal Intern PRN in San Antonio, Texas at University Health System- San Antonio

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides skilled and efficient administrative, legal and office management support for the Department of Legal Services. Enhances the effectiveness of all attorneys by monitoring the progress of all departmental matters, to include contract management, claims and litigation, record retention requirements and transactional matters. Ensures the prompt performance of duties, the recognition of priorities, and the sensitivity of matters involved. Exercises initiative and independent judgment in relieving staff from minor and routine matters. Complies with instructions from legal staff and preserves the confidential nature of information. Maintains good public relations and a good working relationship with coworkers and other University Health employees at all levels of the organization, physicians, patients, Board members, public officials, and members of the community-at-large.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
State accredited law school or paralegal studies program is required. Bachelor's degree in management or law related field is preferred. Experience in a hospital/medical and/or local government environment is preferred.
