As a Purchasing Specialist, you'll play a key role at the intersection of purchasing, accounts payable, and financial operations.
You'll coordinate procurement activities, process invoices, maintain vendor relationships, monitor inventory, and support accounting workflows that keep our organization operating efficiently.

What You'll Do
Your work ensures ARC has the supplies, equipment, and financial processes needed to support staff and the people we serve. During a typical week, you will:
- Source and purchase supplies, equipment, furniture, and approved materials for programs across the organization
- Build and maintain positive vendor relationships while identifying quality products and cost-effective purchasing opportunities
- Process invoices and support accounts payable activities, including coding, data entry, payment preparation, and reconciliations
- Assist with accounts receivable functions, payment processing, and bank deposits as needed
- Support month-end and year-end accounting activities to help maintain accurate financial records
- Monitor inventory levels, maintain backstock, and coordinate timely replenishment of essential supplies
- Track purchase orders, resolve purchasing issues, and communicate with staff and vendors regarding order status or discrepancies
- Analyze pricing trends and compare vendors to maximize value and ensure responsible stewardship of agency resources
- Maintain organized purchasing, inventory, and financial records with exceptional accuracy
- Collaborate across departments to ensure teams have the resources needed to deliver high-quality care

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in purchasing, accounting, finance, administrative support, procurement, or a fast-paced office environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Professional communication skills with employees, vendors, and community partners
- Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive financial information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Ability to learn and utilize accounting and purchasing software
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Experience with purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or vendor relations
- Experience supporting accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting functions
- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar financial systems
- Experience evaluating vendors, comparing pricing, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Experience working in a nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, or human services organization

Compensation
- $27.00-$32.40 per hour for a 32-hour workweek
- Equivalent to Approximately $44,928-$53,913 annually, excluding any additional hours worked
