Company Overview:
Function Health is the AI operating system for health, designed to empower people to live 100 healthy years. We are redefining how individuals understand, measure, and improve their health by moving beyond reactive care and enabling proactive, data-driven insight into human biology. Function has been recognized as one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2024, and is venture-backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). Hundreds of thousands of members have joined Function to take control of their health.
Through advanced diagnostics, deep biomarker testing, longitudinal data, and AI-enabled insights, Function equips members with actionable intelligence to take control of both the quality and length of their lives.Function recently announced a $298M Series B and is entering its next chapter of growth. As we scale, the quality and durability of our People systems, data, and insights will directly shape our ability to attract, retain, and support exceptional talent.
We are growing our team and seeking out world-class talent that deeply believes in our mission to positively impact global health, has a relentless bias toward action, and a growth mindset. Function fosters a collaborative and dynamic environment where every day we build the future.
Role:Own our member experience strategy with a primary focus on driving NPS through deep technical analysis, AI-powered tooling, and systematic operational improvements as we scale. This is a highly technical, hands-on role for someone who builds analytical infrastructure from scratch using AI coding tools as a core part of their workflow, not an occasional experiment.
We need someone who reaches for Cursor, Claude, Replit, Lovable, Bolt, or Base44 the way a previous generation reached for Excel. You have shipped real things with these tools. You know how to move from a raw dataset to a working prototype fast, iterate on what the data tells you, and present defensible recommendations to senior leadership. This is not a dashboard consumer role. You will define the metrics, build the tooling, run the analysis, and own the operational follow-through. What worked at 500 members breaks at 5,000. This role exists to anticipate those breaking points early and eliminate them before they become systemic.
Early phase: majority of time spent on technical build-out, analytics foundations, reporting infrastructure, and AI-powered tooling. Steady state: less time maintaining systems, more time leading operational projects powered by the insights you built.
Key Responsibilities:
NPS Excellence & Systematic Problem Solving
  • Analyze all member feedback and NPS data to identify patterns, root causes, and early warning signals.
  • Design solutions that eliminate recurring issues at the system level, not just resolve individual cases.
  • Drive NPS improvement through data-driven, operationally grounded initiatives.
  • Own the full improvement cycle: issue identification, solution design, implementation, and impact measurement.
  • Proactively identify where processes will break as volume and complexity increase.
Analytics Build & AI-Powered Tooling
  • Build analytics and reporting directly from raw member data using SQL and AI coding platforms, without relying on existing BI tools.
  • Define metrics, dashboards, and monitoring systems from the ground up.
  • Use AI coding tools to prototype workflows, automate analysis, and accelerate insight generation. This is a core part of how you work, not a supplementary skill.
  • Run rapid experiments, measure outcomes, and iterate quickly in a resource-constrained environment.
Operational Execution & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations for Product, Operations, and Clinical teams.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives driven by data, owning execution through to measurable outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence priorities across the organization without direct authority.
  • Ensure insights turn into durable processes or system changes that scale.
  • Present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and drive accountability for outcomes.

Qualifications & Skills:
Technical Analytics & AI Fluency
  • SQL skills with experience building analytics from raw datasets.
  • Hands-on, ongoing experience with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude, Replit, Lovable, Bolt, or Base44 in a professional context or in substantial side or personal projects. You should have specific examples you can speak to. This is a baseline requirement for the role, not something you will learn on the job.
  • Comfort working without established BI tools or a data team around you. You are often the only person who can answer the question you are trying to answer.
Systematic Problem Solving
  • Proven ability to identify root causes in member or customer feedback, implement scalable solutions, and drive measurable improvements through data-driven decision making and rapid experimentation.

Cross-Functional Execution
  • Demonstrated ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations for Product & Operations, influence without direct authority, and follow through relentlessly to ensure implementation and measure outcomes.

Communication & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication with the ability to present findings to senior leadership, influence cross-functional partners, and maintain collaborative relationships across all organizational levels.

Core Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years in analytics, data engineering, or operations roles with demonstrated impact.
  • Startup or high-growth tech environment experience is strongly preferred.

Preferred Background:
  • Direct-to-consumer or high-touch service products where member experience is a core metric.
  • Side projects or examples of self-directed technical builds using AI coding tools. We treat these as meaningful signal.

What's in it for you?:
BenefitsAs the Analyst, Member Experience, you have the opportunity to be an early employee at Function Health and work with an all-star team focused on detecting cancer early for everyone in the world. You're also going to have access to benefits such as:
