Our clients--Fortune 500 brands, professional teams, global agencies, and media--use MVP as the standard for benchmarking sponsorship performance, understanding audiences, and deciding where to run and how to measure campaigns.About the Role:As a Data Scientist at MVP, you will be a part of the growing data science team developing solutions for problem solving client-related issues. You will also work on machine learning solutions for all platforms across the organization utilizing Python, R, Excel and other programs as needed. You will also be working with research and development to research and create forward-facing solutions to help drive client success. The Data Scientists will work directly with the data science, insights and engineering teams to develop and execute products, services, and solutions. This is a hands-on role that requires detailed statistical analyses as well as finding better ways to clean and structure data. For this job you will be involved in extensive research, development, and testing while carefully crafting the methodologies used.
This position requires both strong analytical skills and creative thinking. You must be self-motivated, have a drive to succeed while making MVP better, and most of all be curious about data. On the very first day you will be partnered with a mentor or team of mentors to help guide and transition you into our company. This is a fast-paced job and only individuals who love data and finding solutions will succeed.
This position is remote, with a strong preference for candidates based in the Greater Austin Area to support occasional in-person collaboration.
What You’ll Do:Utilize Python and R tools to develop ways to problem solve and streamline processes for data scienceResearch and develop automated solutions for testing and further developmentWork with senior-level data scientists and engineers to assist in creation of enterprise solutionsWork with our Insights and Client Services teams to streamline processes related to omni-channel valuation and other software and servicesDevelop and implement data methodologies, data collection systems, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and qualityBuild models, test data set validations, and clean data sets to ensure the most accurate reportingAbility to work in an autonomous, self-directed environment with a sense of urgency in solving client issuesAbility to perform in a fast-paced, team, and process-building environmentPersonal interest in sports, entertainment, social media, esports, data, AI, and other relevant aspects of the tech business

What Skills & Experience We'd Like You To Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field2+ years of work experience in an analytical fieldExtensive data analytics project experience using Python, SQL, or RStrong experience with Excel with experience in BI tools as a great additionExperience in machine learning and data mining projectsExperience in Databricks is a plusLocated in the Greater Austin Area is preferred
