Safety and Compliance Specialist at Witte Bros Exchange Inc – Troy, Missouri

The Safety and Compliance Specialist will be responsible for safety compliance, loss prevention, safety training, and ensuring a positive safety environment exists throughout the company.

• Provide safety-related training and coaching for drivers
• Coordinate data for DOT audits and investigations.
• General administrative tasks
• Support with incident/accident reporting and investigation, including but not limited to accidents, near misses, property damage, and DOT reportable events.
• Assist and support the company's drug and alcohol testing program.
• Assist with compliance with the driver’s hours of service regulations. Includes reviewing logs and log corrections, coaching drivers on corrective actions for properly using hours of service, and informing drivers of disciplinary actions because of violations

Requirements:

• Experience delivering one-on-one instruction and training to both small and large groups of employees.
• Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated success working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong multitasking skills with close attention to detail.
• Clear and effective oral and written communication skills with employees and the public.
• Consistent composure and patience in high-stress situations.
• Proven effectiveness in coaching and counseling drivers on safety-sensitive functions.
